Hayato loves you lots and lots and lots~

Hmph. So much foolishness. It’s a wonder she doesn’t get a headache listening to you. Though… I’d gladly do my best to soothe it away for her.

A strangled sound escaped him when he heard that. Her voice so full of emotion. It struck him like a fist and he found himself bowing over slightly, pressing his face into the crown of her hair, pulling her tightly to him. It was a sweet, tremulous ache in the pit of his heart, hearing her words echo in his mind. He wanted them to keep replaying forever. “I…. me too…. love you…”

She couldn’t help but let out a faint chuckle at his jumbled up reply before she wrapped her arms around him again and gave him a tiny squeeze. “I’m glad,” she murmured with a soft sigh before pulling away slightly to give him a chaste kiss. When she pulled back, her cheeks were still rosy and that smile never faded. “Could you…say it again?” Now it was her turn to ask, though it came out a little shyer than she intended.

He flushed, feeling like his face might simply explode from the heat that was gathering in it. But her sweet kisses bolstered him, and his  hands came up, cupping her face, letting himself just look at her for a moment, drinking in her expression. “I love you. I love you… so much.” He all but breathed it out, his voice threatening to break from emotion.

His voice. She could hear it…every hitch, every tremble, everywhere it seemed to all but burst with emotion. Her eyes widened and she could feel her heart squeeze almost painfully in her chest as she gently placed her hands on top of his. Her eyes glistened with unshed tears but it wasn’t from any sort of pain or sadness. That smile was still there and she nodded at him in return. “Please don’t…pull away like that again, okay?” she asked softly, her voice wavering only the slightest bit. “I know that it would be bad if certain people found out but when we’re alone…”

He swallowed hard, but nodded, pulling her closer once more, pressing kisses to her forehead, her temple, her ear. “I won’t…” At that moment, he didn’t care who found out— he wanted to tell the whole world that she was his. Nothing else mattered to him at that moment. “I won’t… ever let you go.”

“It’s fine,” she murmured, a wide smile spreading across her face as her heart swelled in her chest. “And that’s what you’re doing right now. I love you so much and just…just being with you like this is…” she trailed off with a sheepish chuckle, suddenly feeling very embarrassed. A blush rose to her cheeks once more and she found herself glad that he couldn’t see it. “But the same goes for me,” she finally continued, deciding to change the subject a little. “I want to make you happy…more than anyone else.”

“Say it again.” He demanded softly, his arms tightening around her before they loosened, turning her to face him. He took in that flushed face, every bit as bright as his own, and brought his hands up to cup her face, his heart threatening to burst from his chest. “Say it again, that you… that you love me. I don’t think I can hear it enough.”

Her eyes widened at his sudden request and she could feel the color deepening on her cheeks as he pulled her back to look at her. Though she had suddenly found it both difficult to breathe and to meet his gaze, she held steady and gave him another radiant smile. “I love you, Masato,” she whispered without any hint of hesitation, bringing a hand up to gently place it over one of his. “I love you so much—I don’t think I’d ever be able to tell you how much…”

His arms tightened around her when he felt her relax, and he closed his eyes, heat rising up into his cheeks. “I don’t.. ever want to hurt you.” he murmured, his voice strained as he held her close.

“Why do you think that you’d even be able to do that?” she whispered, her grip on his sleeves tightening. She could feel her heart squeezing in her chest but she simply took a deep breath before continuing on. “I know you’re not that type of person.”

His mind filled with doubts, wondering if that question could be taken as a type of rejection, considering what she’d just said before, and his heart lurched slightly. “I just…I…. N-nevermind.” he nearly released her, but the grip on his sleeves held him in place, and reassured him slightly. “You are… precious to me, you know…”

Too late, she sensed the hesitation in him as her mind went back to the words she had spoken without thinking only a few minutes before. She gripped his sleeve again for a moment as he tried to draw back before she released it in favor of turning around to circle her arms around him tightly, pressing their bodies snugly together. “I know you wouldn’t purposefully hurt anyone,” she murmured, her voice muffled as she spoke into his chest. “And you haven’t hurt me, not by a long shot. You’ve given me more happiness than I could ever say.” She just wished she could better explain how it was more of a simple fleeting ache in her chest rather than any sort of real pain. And even now, just the simple feel of his body against hers both calmed her heart and made it flutter. It was a strange feeling.

He swallowed hard around the knot in his throat, bringing his arms up around her tighter, pressing his face into the mass of her hair, breathing in the sweet scent of it. “I’m glad. I know I’m… not particularly good at this sort of thing.” He almost envied Jinguji his ability for seduction and flattery. The only thing Masato was capable of was stumbling over his words and blurting out what was in his heart. “I want to make you happy.”

She didn’t say anything for a long time before turning pink. “Well…though this is kind of embarrassing for me, I can admit that, well…y-you’re someone who makes me happy. I hope that whoever that person is for you is able to give you as much happiness as you give me,” she smiled a little as she crossed her arms and turned away a little more to hide her flush.

(bwa ha ha)

He flushed a bit, but turned to her, his expression slightly pained. “You d—ah, I mean… she does.” He mumbled, stumbling over his tongue as he quickly looked away again, heart pounding.

Her eyes widened a bit at his near slip-up and she turned back to look at him, only to find herself unable to look at him in the face as he turned away. She didn’t reply right away again, instead choosing to stare at him, waiting for something, before heaving a sigh and wilting slightly. “You know, it hurts when the person you love pulls away from you all of a sudden,” she mumbled before her brain quickly caught up, causing her mouth to snap shut and her face to flush a bright red. Had she really said that?

He jumped a little, his eyes widening, and he opened his mouth to say something, but instead bit his tongue, simply turning and wordlessly wrapping his arms around her shoulders from behind. It was probably better than trying to say something and having it come out wrong.

(Gotta go catch my bus… and put a shirt on. Probably not in that order. I’ll be back in about an hour <3 *nuzzle*)

It was hard for her to bite back that startled gasp as he suddenly grabbed her from behind. With eyes as wide as could be, she raised a hand to gently rest it against his arms. “Masato, what…?” she questioned softly, body stiff with surprise before it finally relaxed in his embrace. “What are you…doing?”

His arms tightened around her when he felt her relax, and he closed his eyes, heat rising up into his cheeks. “I don’t.. ever want to hurt you.” he murmured, his voice strained as he held her close.
